SHAVE YOUR
CHEST AND
BODY HAIR

Longer hair and bigger areas need a slightly different approach. Here is the routine.

**Short answer:** to shave your chest or body hair, trim it short first, soften it in a warm shower, apply plenty of gel or cream, shave with the grain using light strokes and rinse the blade often. Moisturise afterwards and wear loose clothing to reduce itching.

Body hair is usually longer and thicker than facial stubble, so a razor clogs fast. A little preparation fixes that.

## The body-shave routine

1

**Trim first**

Use clippers or scissors to take hair down to short stubble.

Action: Trim before you shave.

2

**Soften in a warm shower**

Give the hair a few minutes of warm water.

Action: Wait, then shave.

3

**Apply plenty of gel or cream**

Body hair needs a generous, even layer for slip.

Action: Cover the whole area.

4

**Shave with the grain**

Use short, light strokes in the direction of growth, rinsing often. Avoid going over the same area repeatedly.

Action: Light, slow strokes.

5

**Moisturise and wear loose clothes**

Regrowth can itch. A gentle, alcohol-free moisturiser and loose clothing help.

Action: Be kind to the skin.

## Make it easier

## Frequently asked questions

How do I shave my chest?

Trim first, soften with warm water, apply plenty of gel or cream, shave with the grain with light strokes and moisturise afterwards.

Do I need to trim before shaving body hair?

Yes. Longer hair clogs the razor and makes it tug.

Why does my chest itch after shaving?

Regrowth can itch. Moisturise, wear loose clothes and avoid hot, long showers.

Can I use my face razor on my body?

Many people use a separate cartridge so longer body hair does not dull their face blade.

How do I stop ingrown hairs after body shaving?

Use a fresh blade, shave with the grain, avoid very close passes and exfoliate gently on non-shave days.
